Milestones Matter: Be Their Biggest Champion

The New York State Council on Children and Families (CCF) is proud to launch Milestones Matter, a statewide media campaign designed to celebrate every child’s unique developmental journey. Developed in partnership with the New York State Office of General Services Division of Media Services, the New York State Department of Health, and other CCF member agencies, the campaign helps parents and caregivers understand, recognize, and support their child’s development.

Watching a child grow brings exciting moments—and lots of questions. MilestonesMatter.ny.gov makes it easier for families to find trusted, easy-to-understand information about four areas of child development:

•  Talking and Understanding
•  Feelings and Relationships
•  Thinking and Problem-Solving
•  Moving and Growing Strong

Families can explore developmental milestones and find simple, everyday activities that support their child’s learning and healthy development.

Through the message “Be Their Biggest Champion,” Milestones Matter encourages parents and caregivers to track their child’s development, celebrate milestones, and ask questions along the way. The campaign aims to increase awareness and understanding of developmental milestones while empowering parents and caregivers as essential partners in supporting healthy child development across New York State.
