The New York State Council on Children and Families’ Deputy Director of Research, Dr. Yan Wu along with Director of Policy and Data Analysis, Dr. Najm Alsadat Madani, and Senior Research Scientist, Dr. Xin Zhang attended the National Research Conference on Early Childhood (NRCEC) in Washington, DC in June 2026. The team presented on “Measuring” Early Childhood Poverty: A Literature Review of Tools and Definitions Shaped by Federal, State, and Local Programs and Policies and Long-Term Impact of Lower Elementary Chronic Absenteeism in New York State.
