CCF launches the Survey of Well-being of Young Children (SWYC)® ParentView! Parents and caregivers of young children (under 5 years of age) can use this free, online, family-friendly tool to better understand their child’s development, celebrate developmental milestones, and identify questions to discuss with their health care provider.
Many pediatric providers across New York State are already using this early childhood screening tool. It takes 10-15 minutes to complete. Parents and caregivers can save their results through a secure link for their records, making it easy to refer back to, or share with their health care provider. SWYC is not a diagnostic tool and is not a test that children pass or fail. It provides families with information that can support conversations about their child’s development and help connect families with appropriate support when needed. SWYC® ParentView is an online adaptation of the SWYC developed at Tufts Medical Center, and currently led by TEAM UP at Boston Medical Center.
The launch of SWYC® ParentView is part of CCF’s ongoing commitment to promoting healthy development during the early years. It builds on the momentum of CCF’s Be Their Biggest Champion campaign launched in August 2026. Together, these initiatives help put families at the center of supporting their child, recognizing that parents as experts of their own children, and giving them information to better understand their child’s development, celebrate progress, and know when it may be helpful to ask questions or seek support.
